Susan Chyczewski grew up in Delaware where she attended University of Delaware majoring in animal science and agricultural education. From there she went on to serve in the United States Peace Corps as an agricultural education teacher trainer in Togo, West Africa.
Upon returning from service, in 1993 Susan came to the State College area to pursue a Ph.D. in agricultural and extension education at Penn State. While in graduate school, she met her husband and his career took them and their two sons to New York and Florida before returning to the State College area and settling in Patton Township in 2020.
Susan spent most of her career as a middle school science teacher and now works as an education program specialist in public media. She hopes to use her education and professional experiences to help improve the lives of Patton Township residents.
In her spare time, she reads, rides horses, and serves on the Board of the State College Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) as part of the membership committee.
